Noel lived a generally wealthy life. Her father was a sailor finding treasure and going off on adventures bringing back whatever it is he may find. Her mother was a well known merchant selling off any special trinkets and loot that her husband could bring back from his long trips. Noel grew up to be very smart attending one of the finest universities. Although, she did have 4 siblings, on the inside, Noel was always quite lonely. With her father going out on many of these explorations, she rarely got to see him. He would return home for 2-5 days at a time before leaving on his next trip that could last months.
Around the age of 15, Noel wandered around a lot. She was very curious and wanted to learn about every little thing that could just slightly interest her. When walking into a local pub one day, she stumbled upon some men playing a card game. She approached the gentleman and asked what it was they were doing. This is how Noel got herself addicted to gambling. She was a natural born gambler. She had the straightest face any buccaneer has ever seen. She has no holes or habits that stick out. Plus, she seemed to always come out on top. She was clever and could always tell when she would come out on top. Her name was everywhere as one of the top gamblers in the nation. However, this would change her fate.
She had just finished another game of poker in the local pub, she gladly took her earned money and headed off home. As she was walking around the next street corner, a man jumps from the shadow and pins her down aiming a gun at her head. She tried pulling out her small pocket knife, but the assailant quickly knocks it out of her hand. She was defenseless. Looking up she realizes, it was the same man who lost his money in the poker game. He pistol whips Noel, knocking her out. When she awoke, she had nothing but the clothes on her back. She decided then that a measly pocket knife wasn’t enough. She wanted to learn how to handle a gun.
Noel hears from her mother that Jonathan, a friend of her father’s, was quite handy with a gun. Noel rushes over to his home to ask for apprenticeship. This mentor was a very creative and artistic man. He traveled with Noel’s father on many of his trips, painting all of their locations on his easel and selling his artwork. He did amazing work with his hands, which also allowed him to carry that same finesse into a firearm. He gladly accepted Noel as a student. While teaching Noel, John told many stories of the adventures that he and her father had gone on together. The exotic lands, the buried treasure, and the dangers involved were all just an amazing story to tell to anyone. Noel got excited every time she heard a new story, and she wanted to do the same.
Now at the age of 17, she is well trained in her marksmanship and wants to pursue her journey of being an explorer just like her father. Specifically she wanted to find lots of treasure to bring back for her mother to sell and for her to gamble with herself. She packs up her stuff, says good bye to all of her family, and heads into town in search of others who will adventure with her.
