Hailing from the center of civilization, Absalom, Douglas was always fascinated by the ships that came and went from the harbor. Never rich with wealth, young Douglas grew up reading the accounts of adventure from the Pathfinder Chronicles. At sixteen he took up the pen himself and wrote several short stories about the more interesting points of his life in Absalom. While these stories gained fame on a local level, the budding author knew that his writing career would quickly fade if the locale of his stories remained constant.
So Reed left the island he had called home for adventure. Stopping at a port in Osirion for his first adventure, Douglas joined an expedition to The Sphinx Head, a lost tomb of unknown origin reopened by order of the Pharaoh himself. Unfortunately of the party of adventurers the caravan never made it to the dungeon. Bandits and desert wore down the explorers until only Douglas remained. After near death in the desert Reed decided he would never set foot in the desert again. He remembered the times he spent near the docks with the magnificent ships all bound for adventure.
Leaving Osirion behind and looking to further his budding novel Douglas made his way to the Shackles. After a few nights in a local tavern, courage finally built, the young man joined up with a crew. Not asking many questions he strode across the gangplank and put his possessions into a locker. Taking out a quill he began to write…
